Detailed Itinerary
Your journey begins with a warm welcome at NJP Railway Station, Bagdogra Airport (IXB), or Siliguri. From there, enjoy a scenic 4–5 hour drive through lush hills and river valleys to reach Gangtok, the vibrant capital of Sikkim. After hotel check-in, spend the evening at leisure—explore MG Marg or enjoy the cool Himalayan breeze. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After an early breakfast, begin your North Sikkim adventure with a drive to Lachen (approximately 6–7 hours). Along the way, visit Singhik View Point, Seven Sisters Waterfall, and Naga Waterfall. Pass through scenic mountain roads with dense forests and river valleys. On arrival in Lachen (approx. 9,400 ft), check in to the hotel and rest for the night.
Start before dawn for an adventurous excursion to Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world at 17,800 ft. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the lake offers breathtaking views and spiritual tranquility. Return to Lachen for breakfast and later drive to Lachung, another scenic village in North Sikkim. En route, enjoy views of waterfalls and alpine forests. Overnight stay in Lachung.
Early morning visit to Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers, famous for its colorful rhododendrons (seasonal) and lush landscapes. On the way back, you may also visit Hot Springs if time allows. Return to Lachung for breakfast, then begin your drive back to Gangtok, arriving by evening. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
After breakfast, check out and proceed toward Darjeeling, the Queen of the Hills. The 4–5 hour drive takes you through beautiful tea gardens and winding hill roads. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening walking along Mall Road or sampling local cuisine. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Begin your day early with a drive to Tiger Hill to witness a magical sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga. Visit Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery on your return. After breakfast, enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour covering the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Peace Pagoda, Japanese Temple, and scenic tea estates. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
